We got to the hotel around 3:30 in time to wander around the massive lobby for a while. It is placed at the end of a long section of various residences all under the management of Hilton hotels in one big walled off resort plantation with an indoor pool complex and everything and the hotel itself is all the way up to the beach. We have a nice room on the 18th floor (read 17th, they don’t number a 13th) equipped with couch and kitchenette. For as nice as the place is, there isn’t even so much as a phone port in the room to connect to dial up internet with. They do have wireless, but it costs $10 per day to access it. For those not quite so inclined to rip themselves off, there’s a small room on the first floor that has a few computers and an extra ethernet plug or two, but it always seems to be full.
We were going to go to a steakhouse for dinner, but it was closed indefinitely for repairs. We decided to go to Joe’s Crab Shack, which had an excellent crab dip.
Getting back, we discovered that the room’s tv has the inputs disabled, so we have to continue using my laptop as a tv to play gamecube.

We’ve been driving for about two and a half hours now and most of it has just been sleepy time or PSO time using my laptop as a tv with the usb tv tuner I have. We left this morning around 6:30, stopping for a quick McDonalds breakfast, heading for our destination at Embasy Suites at Myrtle Beach. Soon we’ll be stopping in Columbia for a lunch to go and keeping it rolling on the road.
