Welcome to version 2

I’ve spent the last day getting this release ready. Improvements include:

  • Upgraded to Wordpress 2.6 (from WP 2.2)
  • New theme (powered by a newer version of K2)
  • Many fruitless hours spent trying to get OpenID working (never did get it working)
  • A wide variety of posts may or not be broken

Let me know what you think or if you find something that needs fixing.

Can I log in with my OpenID? I like your favicon, by the way. :)

Unfortunately the OpenID never did end up working. That’s why those hours spend are labeled as fruitless. I think the main problem stems from the fact that the WP-OpenID plugin hasn’t been updated in a while and it also conflicts with the theme I’m using (K2).

OpenID is just a pain in general. I tried to set my website up to work as an OpenID server, but that didn’t quite pan out, and I don’t know enough PHP to figure out what’s wrong with it. Not that it really matters; I’ll probably just put some HTML in my headers and link it to my LJ account.

I was working on that too. That was a different plugin that didn’t work either, and I did end up just delegating myopenid with a few meta tags, but most of my work was trying to get commenting to be OpenID enabled.
