Pansies!!!

This past weekend was almost solely comprised of computer repair for two different parties, and from the looks of things, it may play a role in next weekend too. I really need to find a way to turn this in to a legit business or something, but it’s still all fun and games to me. I did get to see The Fountain at the dollar-and-a-half movie theater over the weekend. I can’t say I recommend it, though. It’s largely an exercise in “You thought this movie was just a mediocre fantasy with modern day medicine thrown in? Well, taste the 5 minutes of WTF that we call the ending!”
Today a new update in the possibility of moving across the hall to a nearby room. Apparently, as slow as paperwork moves around here, it does keep moving, however slowly. It’s finally trickled upstream to whoever is the head of housing for this quad, and my roommate, his friend, and myself will have to meet with him as soon as possible. And, none of our schedules line up at all, but we’re struggling to make time to meet him possibly on Thursday. I do know that after a certain point, changes in housing happen very quickly, so I may be in a new room by the weekend, but I’m not counting on it.

4, 3, 2, Go!

Ever seen a 4 dimensional cube rotating in 3 dimensional space on a 2 dimensional screen? If that doesn’t excite you, then stare at the image for a while.

Adjusted Schedule

After the modifications to my work schedule last week, here’s my average week ala MS Paint:

Blood and Anime

I donated blood today. It went much better than last semester where they were digging around for my blatant and easy to hit vein. More along the usual lines of *poke*, wait a bit, OK done.
In other news, I’m liking my dual monitors while they last. I can write while while watching the latest Death Note, which is already out on mininova, by the way (ep. 15). It’s still gaining intensity as fast as ever, with L’s inevitable death and Light’s oblivious new girlfriend. I’ve never been much interested in chess, but this show is like watching a really drawn out chess game, with one check after another. I call checkmate in 22. (I also call Light giving up his death note for a time too.)

EDIT: Bleach 112 is also out now. Downloading that currently.

Spend some time

(Credit to Slashdot) In a not-so-surprising recently published study, 65% of Americans spend more time with their computer than with their significant other. Further:

  • The average consumer has experienced computer troubles eight times – about every four months – over the last three years.
  • The average American is wasting 12 hours per month – the equivalent of half a weekend – due to problems with their home computer.
  • A majority of Americans (52%) describe their most recent experience with a computer problem as one of anger, sadness or alienation.

It shouldn’t be that funny, but I can’t help but laugh at that last bit.
